Mayor Don Dent and city staff reviewed operational and safety measures used during the city’s Fourth of July fireworks display, saying the event followed extensive planning and modeling. Staff said the electronic firing system reduced on-site risk by freeing six to eight firefighters who had previously been assigned to manual ignition, allowing them to be staged across the event area.
