Board convenes executive session on Cassody litigation; returns with no action
The Garfield County commissioners entered executive session Aug. 10, 2026 under Title 25 O.S. § 307(B)(4) to consult with counsel about Cassody litigation (CIV-24-595-SLP) and returned to open session with no action taken.

At 2:00 p.m. the board voted to enter executive session under Title 25 O.S. § 307(B)(4) for confidential communications with the county attorney concerning the case Thomas and Sherry Cassody, individually and as special administrators for the estate of Weston Cassody, vs. Garfield County Sheriff, and Brant Bishop, Case No. CIV-24-595-SLP, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. Commissioners Maly, Wedel and Kegin voted to convene the closed session.
