Committee keeps concealed-pistol application records private, confirms scope includes semiautomatic rifles

The committee unanimously retained an exemption that withholds concealed-weapons application records from public disclosure, while preserving access for law enforcement and judicial proceedings when necessary (for example, surrender orders tied to domestic-violence cases). Chair Roland Thompson said the exemption has existed for some time and is intended to protect personal information about non-public individuals.
