Senator Blake Spear introduced Senate Resolution 67 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and urged members to celebrate while reflecting on the nation's complex history. "When I'm thinking about this holiday, the July 4 ... I reflect on what it means personally to experience those overwhelming feelings of patriotism," the sponsor said on the floor.
