Commissioners approved two proclamations after a presentation from Brandy Foster of Hope Unlimited, designating April 2026 for Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention and encouraging residents to wear blue on April 10.

Brandy Foster of the nonprofit Hope Unlimited presented to the Neosho County Commission on April 7 and the commission approved two proclamations recognizing April 2026 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month. Commissioner Nicholas Galemore moved to approve the Sexual Assault Awareness proclamation and Commissioner Gail Klaassen seconded; the motion passed 3-0.
