Steelton Council Backs Enterprise Zone Application to Promote Redevelopment
Council voted unanimously to support an Enterprise Zone application aimed at positioning the Cleveland Cliffs site and the borough’s industrial corridor for future investment and remediation; the designation does not change zoning or create tax implications, a regional economic official said.

Steelton Borough Council unanimously approved Resolution 2026-R-23 on June 15 to support designation of the borough as an Enterprise Zone and to allow staff to apply to the Commonwealth. Ryan Unger of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corp told the council the program is intended to help the borough and regional partners prioritize funding for redevelopment and environmental assessment tied to the Cleveland Cliffs site.
