Drainage projects advancing; trees to be removed and replanted as crews work evenings and weekends

Charlie Krebs told the board that all four drainage improvement sites are under construction, with sites cleared, silt fences installed and pipes being placed in the ground. He said "Pipe will be installed in Oak Run the week of June 29, 2026. If grading is completed, the project is expected to be completed by the end of July."

Krebs reported that Palmetto Dunes should be completed by the end of the week and that sod is likely to be installed in Turnberry and Palmetto Dunes the week of July 2. The board was briefed that twelve affected trees in Palmetto Dunes (mostly slash pines and two red maples) will be removed and replaced, and that six Cabbage Palms in Oak Run will be removed and replanted. Staff will monitor post‑construction sheet flow where downspouts were removed and will track additional contingency costs for reporting.
