The Council approved a proclamation, introduced by Council Member Wally Larrabee, declaring September 2026 as Suicide Awareness Month after a presentation from Jessica Gehring of the Davis County Health Department, who cited that 91% of Utahns report being affected by suicide and said communities play a role in prevention.

The Woods Cross City Council approved a proclamation declaring September 2026 as Suicide Awareness Month following a presentation from Jessica Gehring, Community Health Educator and Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Davis County Health Department. Gehring emphasized community partnership and said the month is intended to promote connection, hope, and awareness of resources.
