Butler County reports eight confirmed overdoses so far in 2026, three cases pending
County staff reported eight confirmed overdose deaths in 2026 with three pending investigations, up from five confirmed and six pending at the same time last year. The board received the update as part of the Director's report and monitoring activities.

During the Director's report the board heard the county's overdose numbers: "For 2026, as of last week, there have been 8 confirmed overdose deaths with 3 cases still pending," staff reported, and provided a year-over-year comparison (at the same point in 2025: five confirmed, six pending).
