During the public-comment period, resident Dwayne Cox addressed the Heard County Board of Commissioners and raised concerns about rapid development in the county. Cox said subdivision activity, zoning compliance and erosion control issues were straining county resources; he "cautioned against large corporate land purchases and urged the Board to strengthen ordinances to protect the county's long-term character."
