Residents urge unity, memorial support and clearer code language during Oneida public comment

During the public-comment period Bob Britton urged the Council to "work together rather than engage in finger-pointing or divisiveness," said he strongly supports the airplane memorial project and encouraged the council to seek long-term solutions to recurring Fire Department overtime costs. He also questioned why more cyclists passing along the Erie Canal Trail do not stop in Oneida and suggested the City better capitalize on trail-related economic opportunities.

Gregg Myers said he had contacted colleagues across New York about proposed local-law approaches to storage trailers and called several provisions in the City's draft 'vague.' He asked whether the City reviewed comparable laws so it was not "reinventing the wheel," and raised questions about compliance timeframes and common situations such as towing companies storing disabled vehicles, contractors bringing equipment for major projects, and long-standing industrial site equipment.
