The Jasper City Council voted Oct. 14 to award a contract to KBS Electrical to install advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) at a cost of $1,702,423.27. Council Member DeMarcus Holmes moved to approve the contract and Council Member Angel McCroskey seconded; the motion passed unanimously by roll call vote.
