By Resolution 526713 the Edna ISD Board voted 5–0 that the district will not implement Texas Senate Bill 11's provision for a period for prayer or reading religious texts during the school day. The board then entered executive session from 6:07–8:07 p.m.

On March 11, 2026 the Edna Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted Resolution 526713 declining to implement Texas Senate Bill 11's provision for a period for prayer or reading religious texts during the school day. Board President Brandon Peters moved the resolution and Trustee Dustin Kocian seconded; the minutes record the vote as For: 5, Against: 0.
