After a staff presentation and board Q&A about alignment with TEA and classroom use of AI, the board unanimously approved the 2026–27 Scholar Code of Character, Conduct and Support, emphasizing restorative practices and clarified sections for scholars with special needs.

William Stubbs, Senior Director of Well‑Being, presented the proposed 2026–27 scholar code and walked the board through highlighted changes. "This year, you actually see the changes," Stubbs said while noting the code includes new guidance on AI-related misconduct and updated language for students with 504 plans. Board members asked whether the code was dictated by the Texas Education Agency or adopted locally; Stubbs said the network translates state expectations into its operational code.
