Trustee Kyle Stephens moved on Feb. 9 that the board adopt a resolution to provide a period of prayer and reading of the Bible or other religious text as provided by Section 25.0823 of the Texas Education Code. Trustee John Borens seconded the motion, and the board voted 0–7 against the resolution.
