County accepts three-year OJP grant to fund special attorneys program

Karen, representing the District Attorney's Office, told the court the office learned it had been awarded a three-year OJP FY2026 Special Attorneys Program grant (OPJADash2026Dash172587) that will fund a grant-funded attorney position from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2029. "The district attorney's office applied for a grant back in the spring and we found out quite suddenly that we actually had gotten the grant," Karen said, explaining the award timeline and term.
