Board members heard that the City of Gaston is considering not renewing its participation in Washington County's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) consortium. Staff advised that if Gaston opts out it would need to seek CDBG funds through the state program and compete with other jurisdictions, and that Washington County could lose the small Gaston portion of consortium coverage.
