Conference managers amend SB 2623 to require pharmacy technicians to be 18 to administer vaccinations

Conference managers reviewed SB 2623 (licensing) and approved a conference draft that clarifies age and authority for registered pharmacy technicians. The bill specifies a minimum registration age of 16 but the CD1 amends the vaccination-administration provision to require that a registered pharmacy technician be at least 18 to administer vaccinations and meet the requirements under the cited statutory section. "We do appreciate the Senate making the amendments to clarify that 18 years, you need to be 18 years or older to administer a vaccination," a manager said during the discussion.
