Staff told council they plan to update a customer‑service policy last approved in 1995 and add an extreme‑weather disconnection provision that would restrict disconnections when temperatures are forecast to be above or below set thresholds for 12 hours or more. "We're talking about an extreme weather disconnection policy that restricts disconnections when temperatures are forecasted to be above or below that 32 degrees or 100 degrees for a period of greater than 12 hours," a presenter said.
