The full story
District instructional leadership presented Local Governance (LSG) monitoring results for Goal 3 (sixth‑grade math) and Goal 4 (sixth‑grade reading). Presenters told trustees that fourth‑ and fifth‑grade math scores regressed from Benchmark 1 to Benchmark 2 at many campuses; staff attributed much of the variation to differences in assessment windows and pacing (Benchmark 1 reflected instruction through November while Benchmark 2 was a cumulative STAR administration). The district said it will accelerate implementation of Bluebonnet (a high‑quality math curriculum) to strengthen tier‑one instruction and provide manipulatives and planning supports distributed by grade.
