The Nelson County Board of Education opened its Aug. 18 meeting at the UpCenter with a showcase of the district's electrical and advanced manufacturing programs. Presenters told the board the UpCenter is intended as a hub for career-focused "houses" across the district and previewed a community grand opening scheduled for Sept. 29.
