County adopts speed-limit resolution around new Minneapolis Road interchange

The board approved Resolution 2025-60 to formalize speed-limit signage and placements near a new Minneapolis Road interchange; signs will be installed when materials arrive and Minneapolis will reimburse materials costs for city-owned signs.

Des Moines County approved Resolution 2025-60 to create enforceable speed-limit placements around a recently completed interchange on Minneapolis Road. Ryan Carter, who presented the item, described staggered limits that will manage traffic approaching the interchange: 25 mph near the city approaches, 45 mph to the interchange and 55 mph past it, with the county installing some signs and Minneapolis reimbursing the county for materials for city signs.
