Tama County adopts temporary road embargo policy (Resolution 223-2026)
Supervisors adopted Resolution 223-2026 to place temporary embargo signs on county roads in disrepair to protect equipment and manage repairs; the motion passed by voice vote.

A supervisor presented Resolution 223-2026, which would authorize temporary embargo signage on county roads that are in poor condition and require repair. The board was told this is the first time Tama County has had such a resolution and that signage will prevent heavy trucks from further damaging roads until repairs can be scheduled. "This is the first time Tama County has ever had a resolution like this. So, we would highly recommend you guys pass this resolution," the presenting supervisor said.
