Drainage project cleared by regulators; bid documents ready for contractors

Charlie Krebs told the board that the drainage improvements have received approval from the South Florida Water Management District and that the Village of Estero has issued construction permits. The bid documents were finalized and will be made available to contractors.

Board and staff discussed the schedule for advertising, the bid-opening meeting, and the mandatory pre-construction meeting; they also reviewed hurricane and flood-prevention goals for the project. Staff will include consideration of drainage-improvement bids on the April agenda. The meeting record notes that the detailed backup for this item will be omitted from future agendas but the project remains on the board’s work plan.
