The Colrain Select Board voted Dec. 10 to accept and sign an extension to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Springfield Municipal Recycling Facility after Jan Ameen, executive director of the Franklin County Solid Waste District, outlined contract changes. Ameen told the board pricing under the extension will rise and that a shift by larger towns to single-stream recycling could decrease MRF tonnage and lead to add-on fees for smaller towns.
