Trustees appoint Ken Jensen to fill Fraser board vacancy

The Town of Fraser Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Trustee Katie Fischer and appointed Kenneth Jensen to fill the vacancy at its Aug. 5 meeting.

Town Clerk Antonette McVey told trustees that Fischer’s resignation was effective July 15, 2026 and cited Colorado statutory authority allowing an appointment to fill the seat until the next regular election. Kenneth “Ken” Jensen, the only applicant received by the clerk’s office, introduced himself and described his background in small‑town community work, prior business ownership and banking. He noted his involvement with the Fraser River Valley Partnership and local housing initiatives.

Trustee discussion was brief. A motion was made and seconded to adopt Resolution 2026‑0805 appointing Jensen; the motion carried with one trustee recorded in opposition on the floor. Following the vote Jensen took the official oath of office administered by the clerk and was welcomed by the board.

The board’s legal authority to appoint was described in the meeting packet; McVey noted the appointee will hold office until the next regular municipal election on Nov. 3, 2026. The meeting record does not show which trustee cast the recorded opposed vote.
