Engineer explains camera hardware and how video is converted to traffic counts

Rich D'Andrea, an engineer with Colliers Engineering and Design, outlined the equipment Colliers plans to use at seven locations and described how the firm handles recorded video. D'Andrea said the installations typically use a compact camera head with a ground-mounted box strapped to a sign or pole and that the cameras provide a 360-degree view for counting movements and non-motorized users.
