Church impervious-coverage request postponed after board seeks clearer calculations

The board postponed consideration of a variance request to raise impervious-surface coverage for a place of worship after staff and board said the packet lacked clear calculations showing how converting existing or new parking to pervious paving would change the variance needed.

Applicant Dave Madden said the church owns the property and plans to add parking to accommodate growth; he proposed around 83 parking spots and said converting the lower 25 spaces to pervious paving would reduce the request to approximately 9% over the allowance. Board members asked for precise existing-coverage figures and an illustration of the "minimum adjustment necessary" required by Article 16.3. Because those numbers were not in the packet, a motion to postpone the item to the September meeting passed to give the applicant time to revise and work with staff on the minimum relief needed.
