Council creates JCAP fund line to accept grant-funded corrections officer
Councilors approved a new line item in the JCAP fund so a grant can cover a part-time corrections officer dedicated to the jail-based JCAP program; staff said the officer will free up floor officers so facilitators can run programming without delay.

The Jefferson County Council approved creation of a new line item in the JCAP fund to accept grant money that will fund a 2027 part-time JCAP corrections officer assigned exclusively to the program. Mr. Blanch described the jail education program as successful and said partners in the community are helping to fund expansion.
