Cold Spring approves engineering review for pier/dock with revised liability and governing law

The Village Board authorized the mayor May 6 to sign a contract with Race Coastal Engineering for a structural engineering evaluation of the Cold Spring pier/dock. Staff said changes negotiated with the engineer and the village attorney included making New York law the governing jurisdiction (instead of Connecticut) and increasing the engineer’s liability cap from $300,000 to $500,000; the board approved the contract as revised.
