Lake County commissioners approve several utilities projects and budget transfers

The Lake County Board of Commissioners on a unanimous vote approved a slate of Utilities Department measures, moving several local infrastructure projects forward and authorizing intra-department budget transfers.

Madam Clerk introduced the item covering unpaid sewer service, water and administrative charges, which the board certified to the Lake County Auditor. The board also approved an increase of appropriations and a cash transfer for Project 1596, Madison Trunk Sewer Replacement Phase 1 (Project 492S 2025). The board approved plans, specifications and an estimated cost of $412,357 for the Center Street (State Route 615) sanitary sewer extension in the city of Mentor. The board additionally approved final estimate number seven for the Lakeshore Boulevard waterline replacement: release of retainage in the amount of $38,213.74 to DB Bentley Incorporated and acceptance of a three-year maintenance bond for $95,534.37.

"In the Utilities Department, resolution certifying the Lake County Department of Utilities unpaid sewer service, water, and administrative charges to the Lake County Auditor," the clerk stated when presenting the first resolution. All votes on the utilities items recorded three affirmative votes from the commissioners on the roll call.

The approvals allow design and construction steps to proceed on the sewer and water projects and move related budget adjustments into place. No public comments were made on the agenda items during the meeting's public portion.
