St. Mary—s Art Center scope changes approved; elevator design deferred to FY26-27

St. Mary—s Art Center requested and the board approved updates to its FY25-26 restoration project scope on Jan. 20. Staff outlined changes: elevator design work for this fiscal year will be limited to schematic design at $44,000, with design development and construction documents deferred to FY26-27; combined repointing costs for the main building and caretaker cottage increased slightly to $117,500. The updated FY25-26 scope also adds a geotechnical report ($9,750), a hazardous materials report ($1,775), boiler valve replacements ($3,832), replacement of 31 radiator control valves ($16,350), relocation of a washer drain line ($4,669), a French drain ($14,350), ceiling leak investigation/repair ($12,880), wood-floor repair and deep cleaning ($19,350), and security camera upgrades ($6,998).

Sarah (staff) said the additions support preservation and elevator design work and that the revised scope remains within the project—s approved FY25-26 budget. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the scope updates. Staff said next steps include contract work scheduling and coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office for elevator design phases that will resume in FY26-27.
