Conservation director outlines 37‑acre timber improvement and posts educational video

Mike Hendrickson, director of Black Hawk County Conservation, told the board the department will begin timber‑stand improvement work on a roughly 37‑acre tract in the Black Hawk Creek greenbelt north of Waterloo. He said the work includes three main phases — harvest and thinning, crop‑tree release, and weed‑tree removal — and that bids have been awarded and work will start when the ground freezes.
