County commissioners asked Rico Geothermal to clarify potential site locations and lease terms and discussed routing the project through the county planning process if the site is outside town limits. Commissioners heard an update May 4 about Rico Geothermal’s work and said they want clearer answers before the project advances. Staff said the developer has not decided on a final site; possible locations discussed included land south of Ray Hill and near a gravel parking lot by condos. Commissioners asked staff to reach out to the geothermal coalition and the developer to determine whether project locations will fall inside town limits and therefore require planning commission review and public hearings.
