Demolition bids under budget for Deferiet Mill and old post office; work expected mid-March
Officials told the board Dec. 18 that four bids to clear the Mill property and old post office opened Dec. 17, 2024 and are all under the proposed Restore NY budget; work is expected to start mid-March and one permit will cover the work.

Marshall Weir (Jefferson County Economic Development) and Jacob Jacques (Development Authority) updated the board that bids opened Dec. 17, 2024 to take down and clear the Mill property and the old Post Office building as part of Restore NY grant work. They reported four bids were received and all are below the project's proposed budget.
