Lane County asks Planning Commission to consider code change to allow Clean Lane facility on government-owned land
The Lane County Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 on Aug. 18 to request that the Planning Commission consider amending Lane Code Section 16.280 to allow an integrated materials and energy recovery facility as an outright permitted use on property owned by a unit of local government, a procedural step for the Clean Lane Project at Goshen, Deputy County Counsel Mallory Beebe said.

The Lane County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 18 approved a motion requesting that the Planning Commission consider an amendment to Lane Code Section 16.280 to allow an integrated materials and energy recovery facility (I MERF) as an outright permitted use on property owned by a unit of local government. Deputy County Counsel Mallory Beebe presented the item as a short procedural matter and asked the board to approve a prepared form of order.
