Board names representative and authorizes authority ahead of AMR contract deadline

The board formally appointed Supervisor John to continue serving as Buchanan County’s representative on the joint ambulance board and agreed to notify the hospital and city partners of that appointment. Discussion then turned to the county's contract with AMR, which expires Oct. 31; staff warned that nonrenewal notice must be given by May 1 to avoid an automatic two-year extension under current contract terms.
