The Kenosha County legislative committee said it met on June 2 to ensure agenda items could be placed on the county board agenda before July 4. The presiding member explained that "If we'd have let this go till the June 17th committee meeting technically it may not have gotten on to the county board till July 7th which kind of defeats the purpose I think of the thing," citing the scheduling urgency that motivated the early meeting.
