Jim Hess, chief with the Northrup Grumman Fire Department, asked the commission to request that the county include his agency in ambulance-service designations for the Northwork Grumman facility following recent state rule changes that shifted some responsibilities to local jurisdictions. He explained the statutory changes affect interfacility transfers and 911-area designations and asked for a county-supported request for proposals so his department could be considered.
