Land Use Officer reports multiple permits, flags unpermitted constructions across Exeter

At the June 25 meeting, Land Use Officer Dave Arkema presented a written report outlining recent permitting activity and complaints across town. Arkema said a contractor ‘‘needed a permit because he was extending the roof to include the second-floor porch’’ at 7604 St Rt 28 and that he issued the permit. He also said he issued a pavilion permit for Sandra Kehoe at 155 Wright Rd and a front-porch permit for the owner at 1476 CR 23 who plans to tear down and replace a failing porch while reroofing the house.

Arkema said he advised a resident identified as Elvis on May 26 about the procedure to place a park trailer at the top of Wing Hill and that he alerted county codes after receiving reports of possible unpermitted construction of a camping site at 7625 St Rt 28 and an unpermitted carport or garage at Brady Rd (Elizabeth Watson). He also noted that Sheila McCormack at 345 Angel Hill Rd had submitted a permit but indicated she would need a variance; Arkema said he had not yet inspected that site.
