Committee told Sumner County lacks dedicated zoning-enforcement staff
Committee members heard that while staff enforces health-and-safety rules, the county currently has no dedicated staff to enforce zoning regulations, leaving gaps in addressing illegal businesses, signs, fences and related zoning violations.

During discussion one committee member explained the difference between health-and-safety enforcement and zoning: staff "was hired to enforce health and safety standard. Summit County has nobody to enforce the regulations and the zoning regulations," the member said. Committee members said the county should consider making a recommendation to the commission to address the staffing gap.
