Commission backs 11-project priority list for MVP 2027 Transportation Improvement Program
The commission approved Resolution 26-17 recommending 11 priority transportation projects for the Matsu Valley MPO's TIP, swapping three pathway projects for road reconstruction and preservation projects and forwarding the list to the policy board and borough assembly.

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Planning Commission on Aug. 17, 2026 adopted Resolution 26-17, recommending an 11-project short-term priority list for inclusion in the Matsu Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (MVP) 2027 Transportation Improvement Program. Planning and Land Use Director Alex Stron told commissioners the TIP is a fiscally constrained, four-year list derived from nominations and scoring; staff recommended replacing three pathway projects with road preservation and reconstruction projects to rebalance project types.
