John Burgess asked "what was happening with the police service," noting that a possible suicide on Jan. 5, 2026 took about 30 minutes for State Police to arrive, according to the meeting record. The minutes report that councilmember Al Little will gather information about how often Hughesville Police was used for ambulance assists and that council will reach out to other boroughs and townships to see whether they could assist if needed.
