Board revises classifications and lowers values for multiple Ramsey Road parcels

Jay and Louise Ramsey appeared in person to contest assessments on multiple parcels (PIDs 29915, 11974–11978, and 36218). They argued several parcels are farmed together, are not tillable because a small bridge restricts equipment access, and include flood-plain areas, so unit land values should be lower. The board and staff (Office Assistant Diehr) reviewed comparable homesite values and acreage classifications.

The board approved a set of changes. PID 29915's depreciation code was changed, reducing building value to $429,200 and overall value to $507,980. PID 11974's acreage was reclassified to 16.8 acres pasture and 4.7 acres woods, reducing land/overall value to $225,100. PID 11975 had its depreciation code changed and tillable land reclassified to pasture, producing an overall value of $1,067,516. PID 11976 and 11977 had tillable acres reclassified (to woods and pasture respectively) with lowered land values; PID 11978 remained unchanged. PID 36218's tillable area was reclassified to pasture with an overall value reduced to $64,700. The motion implementing these changes was made by Butch Barnes, seconded by Bill Wine, and carried unanimously.
