Staff member describes asbestos complications during packing work

During a brief meeting exchange, a staff member raised concerns about asbestos found under plywood and black mastic in parts of a building addition, saying removal will require changes to how concrete is cut and that "the whole floor has to be sheeted."

A staff member described difficulties removing an addition at a facility because of asbestos contamination, saying workers encountered asbestos under layers of mastic and plywood. "Apparently all the carbonated areas had black mastic with asbestos covered with plywood," the staff member said, adding that removal plans must change because of the additional asbestos found.
