A Community Foundation representative presented a proposal to upgrade South Park’s playground, saying the existing equipment is more than 20 years old and lacks features for older children and children with mobility or sensory needs. "Our goal is very simple. We just want to make sure that we have a nice park for the kids that are up on the south end of town," the speaker said, explaining the foundation’s outreach to neighborhood residents and their preference for turf surfacing over pea gravel for accessibility and durability.
