The Morgan City Planning Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation on Ordinance 26-14, a proposed general-plan amendment affecting parcel 00-00057-5520, a 0.97-acre lot behind the Ace Hardware store. Jake (staff) told the commission the property is currently designated medium‑density residential in the future-use map but "it really is a property that could go either way," and staff sees no issue with commercial use given visibility from State Street.
