Councilmember Katy Sheehan introduced an IRC amendment to add flexibility for new residential EV-ready outlets by allowing certain solar equipment to satisfy the EV circuit requirement and by designating a specific breaker location to preserve future expansion. She said the proposal would "add a location on the electrical panel where EV circuits would be located" to conserve breaker space as electrification and solar installations increase.
