Council votes to advance mechanical-code amendment aligning provisions with ASHRAE appendix

Council staff presented editorial amendments to the 2024 IMC intended to conform certain sections to the current referenced standard. Benjamin Omura explained that the amendments restated prior exceptions as permissible compliance options and added related reference standards. "...it would be contingent on having, having these amendments adopted," Omura said while describing dependencies between the editorial changes.
