Beautification committee seeks $50,000 for design standards; Council authorizes RFQ process

Members of the Beautification Committee, including Councilmember Margaret Rohde and volunteers Michael Phillips and Randir Sahni, presented a strategic development plan to enhance public spaces and the city's image over five years. The committee asked the Council to "refine projects in the 5-Year Plan and collaborate with City Staff during the 2026 Budget process, requesting $50,000 to hire a qualified urban landscape architect for initial project design and codification of landscape standards," according to the minutes.
